Babalata Terms of Service

Effective date: 23 August 2026. Last updated: 23 August 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and BABALATA LLC, 444 NE 7th Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33304 ("Babalata", "we"), about using the Babalata app and website. By creating an account or using Babalata you agree to them. For a child's account, the approving parent agrees to them on the child's behalf.

1. What Babalata is, and is not

Babalata is a learning and tracking app: savers set goals, record what they put aside, play money lessons, and a connected parent can follow their progress.

Babalata is not a bank and does not hold, move, or transfer money. Every amount in the app is a record someone typed in, not a balance we keep. We provide no financial, investment, or legal advice. What a family does with its real money is decided entirely outside the app.

2. Accounts

  • You must give accurate information when creating an account and keep your password to yourself.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used it.
  • A child under 13 may use Babalata only after a parent approves from the parent's own device, as described in our Privacy Policy. Until then the account cannot use the app.
  • A parent who approves a child's account is responsible for that child's use of Babalata.

3. Parent connections

A parent connected to a saver sees the progress described in the Privacy Policy. Either side can end the connection at any time. A parent's view is read-mostly: parents can set up goals, allowance arrangements, and promises on their own side, but a saver's own records belong to the saver.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Babalata to harass, deceive, or harm anyone;
  • upload content that is unlawful, hateful, or inappropriate for children;
  • try to access someone else's account or data;
  • probe, overload, or interfere with our systems, or use the service with automated tools without permission;
  • misrepresent your identity or your relationship to a child.

Group names, goal names, and pictures are visible to the other people in a group. Keep them decent; we may remove content that is not, and may suspend accounts that break these rules.

5. Your content

Names, goals, and pictures you add stay yours. You give us the permission needed to store and show them inside Babalata to the people they are meant for: you, your group, and a connected parent. We use them for nothing else.

6. Ending an account

You can delete your account in the app at any time; what deletion removes is described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or that the law requires us to act on. We may discontinue the service; if we do, we will give reasonable notice.

7. Disclaimers

Babalata is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and correct, but we do not promise it will always be either. Records in the app depend on what people typed in, and progress or streaks may be affected by outages or mistakes. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Babalata is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to one hundred US dollars, reflecting that Babalata is currently free to use. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

9. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Florida, and disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida.

10. Changes to these terms

If these terms change we will update the date at the top and give 30 days' notice, in the app and by email. Continuing to use Babalata after a change takes effect means the new terms apply.
