Is Babalata safe for kids?

No. Every new account is asked for a date of birth during sign-up. A child under 13 cannot use the app beyond that point until a parent approves.

The child asks by entering a parent's phone number. The request reaches only a parent whose Babalata account holds that number, on the parent's own device. Approving also connects the two accounts, so the parent can follow the child's progress. The block is enforced by Babalata's servers on every request, not only by the app's screens.

An unanswered request expires after 7 days, and a child can ask at most three times in that period.

No. Babalata does not hold, move, or transfer money, and it is not a bank. There is no debit card, no bank account and no payment processor in the app.

Amounts in the app are records that families enter themselves: a goal, what has been put aside toward it, an allowance arrangement. In-app coins and badges are rewards for practicing. They are not money and cannot be cashed out.

A connected parent sees savings totals, goals and progress, allowance arrangements, group membership, how many lessons have been completed, and a weekly summary built from those counts.

A parent cannot see the child's answers to individual lessons, their onboarding answers, or anything they write. Conversation starters shown to a parent are written by Babalata from the topic of a lesson, never from the child's own words.

No. The app shows no advertising and contains no analytics or tracking code. Babalata never sells personal information or shares it for advertising.

Only people in the same saving group see that group's name, goal names and pictures. Group members do not see private lessons or answers.

Account information is kept while the account exists. Unused accounts are deleted after 24 months without a sign-in, with a warning email one month before. An account can be deleted from inside the app at any time.
